My dog isn't an aggressive chewer, but he has anxiety and this helps him massively. The pack lasts him 6-8 months, and keeps him happy and entertained. It sucks cuz I have tile floors so the bang can be alarming and I'm afraid of broken tiles but he for the most part keeps it in his bed area.I have a giant-breed dog who likes to chew and I thought, after reading other reviews, that this large chew would last her a good while. She certainly loved it. Even as big as she is, she had a hard time carrying it around, but it lasted no time. Within less than an hour she's disintegrated an entire head off one end of the femur and was sawing down on the rest of the bone.Which is fine, I guess. Happy as can be.. but I've had much smaller bones last longer. And bought a whole box of hooves and had ONE last well over a week (the smell was even worse than these bones, though). So, anyway. Yes, it's a hit.. but the duration is obviously going to depend on the size and determination of your dog (mine's a "soft mouth gripper" herding breed, btw.. not some wolf hound that likes to tear things to pieces for kicks and giggles..)As for basic facts on the product itself (for those not familiar w/ chew bones- I wasn't until recently): They're greasy-feeling to the touch (you always have to wash your hands after touching them/getting them out of the wrapper for the dog); they smell pretty bad (fantastic to the dog, though); they've been smoked or something so there are baked-on flecks that are going to flake off all over your floors like crispy bits.. the dog will eat most of them, but you'll be sweeping/vacuuming behind him/her for quite some time and once the bone is finally broken down to bits, there will be shards (most often) and small round tiny bits that can be stepped on or hazards for small children (just be aware if you have them) and your vacuum that will have to be picked up by hand before vacuuming. Best for an outside treat (unless you have roaming neighborhood dogs that will steal them like I do.. she has to keep them inside and I just have to clean them up.. and a lot of the reasoning behind getting these things is to keep them from chewing inappropriate things IN the house). So they have their pro's (they WORK, they attract the dog's chewing attention very well) and cons (a freaking smelly mess).. I find it worth it but will find a different product (probably go back to hooves).I have a an American Staffordshire Terrier mix and a vizsla. My Staffy is jokingly assumed to be mixed with a crocodile because there is yet a treat she has not been able to crush and pass. That said, I have purchased this brand a few times and the dogs love these things. Firstly they last a while, they keep their teeth clean, the bone satisfies the dogs' instinct to chew. I am not sure if the bones are from organic or grass fed cattle. I am most likely way off in my assumption that in India cows are a respected animal and are treated relatively well. Furthermore, my dogs have not become sick from these and one should follow common sense when giving their child a semi raw product - if there is a funk coming off the bone, a rational person would be cautious to give that particular treat to the dog. Though the bones do smell pretty bad, it is not a smell of rot or spoilage.from the company's website: "Most of our treats are made in South America and Asia. In particular, our Gourmet treats are made in China. Most people see China and say "Oh no, here we go" or "Not for my dog". When products from China came under scrutiny, Loving Pets became proactive. We immediately began product testing with our "Tested in the USA" program. We didn't decide to do this because we had to, but because we wanted to. Our dogs are like family to us and they enjoy Loving Pets' treats. We want to feel safe giving our treats to our own dogs as well to yours. Unlike most companies, we share the test result with our customers. There are three tests performed on our products: First, at the factory where they are created. Second, by the USDA and third by an independent lab in the United States. The final lab results are posted on our site for all to see."I will be contacting the company directly to find out if the bones are from American Buffalo/Bison, Water Buffalo, or European Bison.I did find out from the company that it is made from Water Buffalo...and, honestly the dogs loved them...but they did not last as long as the American Buffalo/Bison bones lastWhen I originally found these bones at a local Marshall's, I fell in love. They were durable, they didn't stink, and my dog LOVED them. Unlike those beef bones you can buy at the store, they didn't splinter or break apart. My dog is a power-chewer, and I vowed to buy more when I could. The bones that I ordered did NOT have the same results. The sides of the bones were far thinner than the last ones. While they still didn't splinter, they broke apart, and I now have two bones with giant chunks missing out of the sides. Bones with sides that thin should not be pushed through production for dogs- they should be removed, and only the strong ones should be sold. I won't be buying these again, which really saddens me- she adores them. Any dog which a 7 to 9 inch bone is purchased for isn't going to have small jaws- or weak ones. I'm just glad that my dog didn't try to eat the chunks, and that we caught our little dog when she tried to.I give it two stars, as opposed to one, because I did have a positive experience the first time that I purchased these. Not all of the bones are thin, but the ones that I ordered WERE, and that isn't okay. Purchase at your own risk, and make sure that you keep an eye on your dog while they have these. I'm glad that I did.No es lo que viene en la foto. Es un hueso pelado y hueco completamente.Satisfactory
