This leaf brooch was much nicer than I expected. The detailing on the leaf is well done, the catch is sturdy and secure, and it came on a Lord of the Rings photo card---a nice plus for Tolkien fans!I always read reviews and look at pictures. I’m not sure why I didn’t. But this doesn’t match the picture and I can’t understand how companies ship stuff out that is not what they depicted. I’ve had good luck with Rubie’s before, but disappointed in this and would return if I had time.This worked for one day of wearing. The pin broke the next time I tried to clasp it.This is a really poor quality product, the pin popped off when it arrived and had to fix it a bit. A very cheap replica that might make it through a few costume parties, but you might lose it in your drink.For this review, keep in mind that I bought this brooch for an informal social event that is themed. Just so there is an idea of the purpose for this brooch. I needed an inexpensive elf brooch to go with a clock for a LOTR’s party. I am on a tight budget, so I saw this one was under $5. I took a chance and I am pretty pleased. It came in 2 days in the original packaging. The clasp is still attached and working. The green has some unevenness to it and so does the chrome, but it looks fine in general. For cosplay I would get a different one as the shade of green is wrong and it is a little bit smaller too. For just a fun party or something, it works.I bought this for my sons Halloween costume. It arrived on time and as it showed in the photos. We did a lot of running around as he is 2 and this held up nicely.Looks great as a leaf of Lorien for our Fellowship costumes. The pin is oriented along the shorter axis of the brooch making it useless for clasping the two sides of your cloak together, unless you want the orientation 90 degrees from the way it should be. Just be aware that it is just decorative and not useful as a structural piece for your garment.Feels like very thin metal, is a clip-on, but stays on well.These broaches look really cheap and rubbish, nothing like the photograph in the listing, even though they're official merchandise! They are messily painted with a very thin coat of pale green; the effect being very similar to using a permanent marker on metal. There is no depth, contrast or variation to the colour or glaze, they really do look rubbish. I bought seven and am really disappointed, I wasn't expecting much for the price but they fail to meet even the lowest expectations. The image shown really bares no relation to the actual item other than in shape!Not idly do the leaves of Lorien Fall...-Well mine did.And I never found it after.Its beautiful and seemed sturdy enough but take heed, it may need reinforcements on a night out or if you intend to use it extensively (ie. as a broach or pin on a handbag like the useage I gave it...)-I dont think it would break very easily and in all fairness, it could have been stolen...I half reccomend this, but look after it better than IThis brooch was as advertised in size. The brooch is a little plastic like in feel, but it is sturdy and durable. The pin to attach to clothing is also durable and scout proof.I didn't expect much from something so cheap, but the picture is sufficiently misleading to be a breach of consumer law. Photographs shown should show the object for sale, not a much better version. Have to keep the three I bought, because I now don't have time to find alternatives, but I do feel ripped off.This was a very bad buy. I didn't expect it to be of amazing quality or look that much like the original props, because of the price and the fact it's specifically stated as such. However it didn't even look anything like the picture that's been posted on here. All the green paint is actually in the place of the white/silver and vice-versa. It's also of a quality that feels like plastic, and the first time I wore the product, the pin that's supposed to hold it in place broke.
