Our eco-friendly plates are made from the fallen leaves of the Areca Palm Tree. The Areca Palm Tree is endowed with huge leaves and fronds which shed and fall to the ground every few weeks. These leaves are sundried and heat pressed into disposable plates, bowls, and platters. No Chemicals, No Bonding agents. No Lacquers or Sealants used. Each plate is hand-pressed from a single leaf. They have a wood-like appearance providing a touch of Nature to every dish they are used for. This elegant dinnerware is also 100% compostable (composts in 60 days - no industrial process necessary) and disposable, making them perfect for indoor or outdoor events. The aesthetic appeal of the plates makes them a great substitute for conventional china during formal and casual events alike. The material does not react with food. All manner of wet/hot/cold foods can be served without the plate losing its integrity. They are microwave safe ( 2 minutes on high)and oven safe (45 Minutes at 350 Degrees); and capable of withstanding generous portions of food.

I've ordered a few different palm leaf type plates and these are like all the rest. No worst, but no better. I do like the idea of using palm leaves, plus they just look unique and cool. They are of course very thick and study. Handle just about anything you'd want to put on them.One thought though, and I do not mean to knock eco-friendly products, but they are just so pricey for plates you'll throw away after one use. Comes out to almost 60 cents a piece. Maybe it costs more to make?They are cool plates and if you are okay with the price, would recommend.These compostable plates are not only lovely, but very good for a disposable option! They hold a lot of food, liquids do not cause them to get floppy and fall apart amost right away, foods like melted cheese doesn't want to stick to them like so with paper plates, and they're formed with a nice bevel and lip to hold foods on.These plates are perfect for beach parties, themed celebrations, or when you just don't feel like doing dishes, lol. They're thin, but they seem sturdy enough & they'd work great as snack trays to serve guests cheese, crackers, grapes, cookies, etc on. I only wish the outside edges of them came up a little more, just to make sure that no food would accidentally slip off the edges of the plates (so you probably shouldn't overstuff them with food lol) but they're a generous size & would work nicely for holiday/party serving/snacking plates that look nicer than just using regular paper plates! :)We used these palm leaf plates for our bbq dinner party. It holds a good quantity of food on it. It doesn’t get soggy and it holds the oil on the surface itself instead of absorbing it. Its way more better than paper plates and eco friendly too. I should have got the entire set with the wooden cutleries. Doesnt bend when held in hand with food on it. Strong and sturdy.These are really strong. They cost more than ordinary paper plates but are sturdier and more earth friendly.
