Was a little worried as Amazon lately carries fake products but this is good batchWarm the oil on hot water bath before useBest oil ever"Healthy" also deserves quotes, I suppose. Same as fingernails or animal horns, as all hair is dead on a cellular level -- unromantic but true.I have "thirsty" (those quotes, again!) hair, and conditioner doesn't always seem to help much. I also have skin sensitivities, so after one manufacturer changed a formula on one of my faves for the worse, I decided to try coconut oil.The results are dramatic. My hair looks really nice, as shiny as it was in my 20s, it's soft again, and I'm feeling kind of like a dupe that I've been buying chemically formulated conditioner all these years. I agree with other reviewers that this oil, or at least the batch I got, seems to have something in it to keep it from solidifying (at least in a 70something degree bathroom) the way most culinary coconut oils will. It also doesn't have the same rich coconut flavor of my favorite brands, such as This is an excellent product for cooking it does have a coconut taste and smell with pairs wonderfully with curries or nearly anything else I used it for including frying onions, vegetables, etc.The container is difficult to get the oil out of but I left it behind my computer to "thaw" and then put it in a more accessible container.I eat a tablespoon of coconut oil every morning and the wonderful taste made it go down very easily.I tried oil pulling with this oil but it didn't seem like a practice I wanted to continue. Great time investment but nowhere in my apartment did I want to spit that oil out.I don't use soap or shampoo anymore and apply coconut oil to my body, face, and hair. This stuff smelled great while in the shower but after a few hours others complained that I smelled like leftovers. I haven't had this response with other coconut oils. I have amazingly clear and soft skin and hair from daily application of coconut oil.I tried to make my own toothpaste with this coconut oil and the flavor of it made for an awful tasting batch of toothpaste. Tastes great by itself or in cooking but in this application it was kind of like old pork taste.Coconut oil, baking soda, and a flavor oil are really all that's needed but no amount of flavor oil could mask the awful taste.I use coconut oil as a butter replacement for baking cooking and other goods. This is definitely great for that even though it may be more 'potent' than the stuff you buy in a jar at the store. This jug starts off as liquid, but will turn solid if put into a different container in a cooler spot. It's also the equivalent about two of the jars, so the price is great.Con is that there is a definitely a strong smell and taste, so if you use it on your hair, you may want to leave it as a deep conditioner and wash it out. My husband complained about it when he used it on his scalp for dryness, but it doesn't smell any worse that other hair product and the smell will dissipate after awhile. If used for cooking, make sure your recipe will cancel out the coconut taste if you don't want it. I made butter-free cookie dough and it came out great. Used Reese's peanut butter chip and couldn't taste the oil at all!It you don't want to risk the scent though, I would suggest sticking to the stuff you find in cars at the supermarket.This is one of my favorite products. The scent is subtle. It is absorbed leaving behind a soft silky feel.Everyone has their preferences for coconut oil, for me this company produces an excellent and yummy oil. I love the taste and the scent, as does my hubby. I've tried other brands and so far, this one pleases my palate the most, not to mention easy on my budget. Love, love, LOVE this product.As the many reviews has stated coconut oil has multi-uses. I prefer going natural/holistic for everything and coconut oil is part of my daily health and beauty regimine, as well as for my four-legged companions.Amazon has several books on the many uses and natural health benefits of this wonderful oil. I highly recommend looking into its benefits. I put a teaspoon in my coffee daily, a yummy way to start my day; add to pet food for its anti-microbial and skin and hair benefits (for me too); natural sunscreen; and the list goes on.I trust the opinion of those whom have empirical experiences and wisdom about this oil. The Asian's and Polynesian's have been using coconuts for beauty, health and healing for centuries, their wisdom is certainly working for me and my friends.I like this product. The smell is nice and nutty. It takes time to get use to it but the oil really makes my hair and skin feel smooth and soft. I use it as a hot oil treatment before I wash my hair. I oil my body with it before I bath. If you use it before you use soap, your skin will not be as dry. Since it solidifies at room temperature, I warm the entire container up and put the oil in small containers. This way, I will not have to warm the entire container every time I need the oil. The price was great for this amount of oil. My entire family uses it and that consist of 10 people. This container last me for two months. I will need to stock up on this. Please take this coconut oil back and deliver the new one in good condition urgently.There is no cap for the bottle we received also it seems the oil is leaking, please let me know if we can return this item, we are using parachute hair since 30 years but felt like it is an fake one as it doesn't seem to be the regular one, kindly note this point and take care because we trust this brand so much that we use this for our kids tooNo mention manufacturing date on the bottle and anywhere.
