Pure Support Knee Brace - Compression Sleeve for Running, Sports & Arthritis Pain Relief - Perfect for Jogging, Workouts & Joint Support

UPDATE: I bought two more red colored ones because the price is fair and while it has a tad less support than the McDavid neoprene option it is more comfortable and definitely stays in place better.I suffered a MODERATE KNEE SPRAIN at work and that was about 7 weeks ago. I wore a McDavid double strap brace (unhinged) with an open patella design. It was pretty decent but my knee was so weak early on that it would buckle (rare but it occurred) and was quite unstable. I could not stand in one place without serious discomfort, burning or pain and I couldn't even walk around on it for more than 10 minutes per hour. When I saw the company doc they put me in a heavy duty Ossur knee brace with double straps and HINGED. If you are experiencing moderate to severe symptoms IMHO you need a brace more like this. But of course see your doctor and let them recommend one based on your individual symptoms.I initially bought this Pure Support sleeve for my good knee since we all know that when one side of our body is jacked up we consciously or subconsciously change how we use the injured part and then it can lead to the other side getting a little out of whack. I tried it on my "better" knee and really liked it. At my follow up doctor's appointment I was advised I could try moving to this type of sleeve since I had been in PT for several weeks now and done a nice job of building up strength and stability. NOTE: My appointment with an orthopedist and evaluation of the MRI indicated there was a "frayed" meniscus, some tendonosis above the knee, some arthritis in the knee with a loss of cartilage behind the knee. Tonight I tried Pure Support on my BAD KNEE.Here are my observations:-- I measured 19" or 20" with a metal tape measure (not ideal). I bought a vinyl tape measure on Amazon along with this sleeve for easier future measuring. I am 6' 1/2" tall and I weigh 181 pounds. My build is a blend of mesomorph and ectomorph. I ran cross country in junior high and got into baseball and basketball and weight lifting and realized my genetics and constant reading to learn about fitness and the body allowed me to build muscle pretty easily. I ordered the MEDIUM size and it was a little snug in my quads but I know a large would have been a mistake and too loose. I got the right size for sure.-- It is a very nice looking sleeve and has a high quality appearance. I like that it is available in so many different colors for when I wear shorts it will be easy to color match if I care to do so-- I like these style of sleeve as they are LONGER than my neoprene ones I have used in the past. I think longer should aid in less slipping and sliding.-- In spite of looking tight I think it is only natural with walking and movement for these to move some. It is inevitable. The GEL waves are at the top on the inside and they work pretty well at not allowing it to slide down too much. However, I did find that over time it would rise up off of my shin so I was pulling it DOWN toward my feet.-- It is very COMFORTABLE-- Support is LIGHT but clearly present and it keeps my knee warmer. At the end of the day it feels a tad less supportive than in the beginning which could be from it stretching out or it could be more mental, I am not sure. I think this is a good option when you are returning to exercise and have already done the PT work to strengthen your surrounding muscles (ex. calfs, quads, hamstrings etc.) and you are further along in your recovery and you don't want a bulky hinged brace because it is too limiting and won't allow you to restore strength to the area through light exercise.-- It arrives well packaged and includes a family photo note card from the business owners and a thank you for supporting their small family business.All in all, a really nice quality product and something I can see myself using at work a lot.This product is perfect. I am a 63 year old runner and have severe knee problems and this thing is absolutely as advertised. I love it and it feels like a glove on my knee and gives my patella extra support. I couldn’t be happier with the product and the price. Don’t waste your time looking at other support as I’ve done the homework and this is the best.I work for UPS and getting in and out of the truck 200 times a day really wears on the knees. I can tell a difference when I wear this brace and when I don't. I don't feel as much pain. It's not completely gone, and I don't think any brace will get rid of the pain 100%, but this brace does a great job at lessening it. The straps are a plus for extra support. I have big legs so the top of the brace slides down and I have to pull it back up probably 10 times a day (over 8-10 hours). Other than that, the only con was the threads that attached the strap to the brace starting coming undone. I reached out to the seller and they are sending me a replacement. Overall I am happy with the brace and with the customer support from the seller!I've purchased two of these, one in Sz. L, and one in XL. Note: they run a bit small, so size up. I began with a size L, and it was a bit tight until it stretched out. I'm a 66 y/o female. Walk daily, but legs are no longer super toned. Am 50 years out from losing my medial meniscus (rt. knee cartilage on the inside of the knee). Pretty much bone-on-bone and told I need a knee replacement sometime in the future. Can no longer sleep w/o wearing some kind of knee brace or support. Otherwise the knee joint shifts out of place in my sleep, and it's horribly painful and awakens me from deep sleep. I got this product because other reviewers here said this brace helps. It helps a little with support while walking, but I need more lateral support at this point. Must say though, it has been just GREAT when sleeping! No more knee pain at night! So I can highly recommend it for night time wear, if you're needing a little added stability while sleeping.What can I say other than this kneebrace is AWESOME!! My son wears this while playing tennis if his knee is acting up. It's very supportive yet flexible at the same time. It's EXACTLY what he needed. And it washable!! It's a "win win" with this lightweight and affordable kneebrace.Pay attention to the 'fine print' that reads: "Do not place the hooks on wrap fabric, can cause stretching and damage."And measure carefully so that you order the correct size.NoneGreat brace, not too much compression not sliding off from being loose and stretching. Stays in place and reduced knee pain immediately for me. Like the added straps. Can wear while sleeping and not have issues. Wish they also made ankle braces!This is absolutely fantastic, I dislocated my knee a few years ago but in the last 8 months it has become really swollen, it makes a sound like bone on bone and the pain has been unbearable also its been difficult and painful to go up and down the stairs and to get up off chairs the noise I make is awful because of the sheer pain. So I bought this knee support and thought it probably won't make much of a difference but will help to stop it getting worse but I was so desperate I was willing to try almost anything and boy how wrong was I. As soon as I put it on the level of pain that I had been experiencing dropped by over half and I am able to climb the stairs and get on and off chairs without screamimg out in agony. Don't get me wrong the pain has not completely gone and according to my GP only a knee replacement op will do that but to go from screamimng in pain when getting on and off chairs, having to crawl up the stairs and gingerly come down and to have take every over the counter painkiller I can safely take and it not really making any difference to putting this knee support on and immediately it took that pain level down by over half and to be able to walk up and down the stairs without crawling and not having to scream in agony when I get up off a chair all due to this knee support it is absolutely amazing and has made my life a 100 percent more manageable and more importantly the pain that I have been experiencing I can bear now so I can continue on with the life I had before which makes me feel so much happier which in turn makes my family happier too as they do not have to watch or listen to me in excruciating agony and feel helpless to boot. Now I am not exaggerating any of this it is without a doubt a life changer for me and I can not recommend it enough, I hope that if you purchase it you get the same results as me I am sure that you will.I think I have a miniscus tear but I haven't been to the doctors or physio as struggling to get an appointment due to covid and they won't see me so can't examine me. They recommended that I get something like this for the time being.I followed to measurements and ordered the Large as I fit into that category. I found the instructions on how to wear it a bit confusing at first but it made sense once I'd fasted the straps. It feels very well supported, tight so compresses the tendons and I feel very very little pain and sometimes no pain at all when wearing it, even though I feel pain without it. Wearing it has also stopped my knee from giving way which is fantastic because it's not great collapsing in the middle of a road with a 6yo!I have quite big thighs, I'm not fat but wearing it makes my thigh look like a pork joint as my body fat sort of appears over the top with it being compressed. I always wear skinny jeans and luckily I have a stretchy pair so it can fit underneath. I tried it over top of skinny jeans but I found it slipped down and it's understandable as it's a rubber grip inside which is to cling to your leg to prevent it moving. The straps sometimes move from off my knee but that's usually from sitting down and easy to sort out.Overall, it's a fantastic product and couldn't be more grateful as it's helping me live a more normal life without having to take painkillers all day and stopped me being anxious about collapsing in public or down the stairs. I highly recommend this product. However, it does slip a little, the material isn't very breathable and its actually quite uncomfortable and itchy to wear.But I am pain free when wearing it, so the lack of comfort is worth dealing with. Probably I would have to reconsider this on a long term basis, but for the short term, dealing with an injury, it's workable.I bought the support as i was in terrible pain in my left knee due to arthritus. I have been told it is down to bone on bone.This support is fantastic and i finally have some relief ! Able to reduce medication and not have such terrible pain.
