This is flat-pack furniture that you assemble yourself, like Ikea but somewhat better quality. It is nicely made, with proper drawer slides and a good overall solidity and finish. I would buy again from this manufacturer. Some minor issues: shipping package was a bit hard to open (though the contents were well protected); as with Ikea, you tend to need a few more tools than are implied by the instructions. A good pair of pliers and a screwdriver with a long shaft will be a big help (not just a screwdriver that takes exchangeable bits). You will need to pay careful attention to the diagrams in the assembly instructions to get everything the right way round. Again like Ikea, they use snail fittings to hold the main components together; however the fixed posts for these are slightly odd - they work on an expansion principle, so you need to push them home, then pull up on the center pin to hold them in position (this is where the pliers help); turning the snail fittings then pulls them harder and locks everything in position.I bought the dresser 5 years ago and it's held up beautifully. I did have to take apart and fix one of the drawers (my son stepped in it) but it was easy and hasn't had to be done again. I was very happy to find the matching nightstand. This piece is easy to assemble, but the directions could be a little clearer with the hardware. Maybe if they stamped each packet with the number / letter of the piece? It took me about half an hour to assemble with some help from my 4 year old. It matches the 5 year old dresser exactly too!It went together great--everything lined up only needed 10 minutes and a screw driver and hammer. I had low expectations for the quality, and it was definitely even lower quality than that. Goes together with plastic dowels and plastic drawer slides into cheaper than cheap press board, so once it starts falling apart not seeing much hope of repair...but it's for my 4 year old, so it's gonna get beat up anyway. I've purchased other put together cheap stuff from another company that had better quality for less money, but they unfortunately didn't make night stands. Definitely not going to be letting them stand on it. I was also disappointed that the shipping label warned of lead paint...thought we'd gotten past that stage of history. At least I don't have any teething kids any more. Definitely would not purchase a larger item of furniture from this company, but for a kids' night stand it will do.We have purchased 2 of these now for our daughters' bedrooms. They are extremely well made and look great for the price. You could spend twice as much and not get anything better. The drawer slides very smoothly and the shelf is great for books, electronics or whatever you need to store while you're sleeping without worrying about knocking it onto the floor. It is also a very nice size, with plenty of room on top for a lamp, clock, glasses, book, phone, etc...This for what it is which is a engineered wood piece of furniture is very nice. I found that it arrived well packed and unscathed. The assembly was rather straight forward. That being said I have put together a lot of such furniture in my day. So it was intuitive of how to put together. The instructions were relatively straight forward. but I have put together pieces where the hardware was much better marked than this one was. I found the hardware to be somewhat disorganized. That being said the finished product looks really nice and is very solid. I would definitely buy again.I bought two of these and they are sturdy, well designed, and not to hard to put together. (Maybe its just me but the hardest part was figuring out the diagram for step one - if you are confused as well, the plastic thing is to help hammer in the drawer bracket without breaking it - if you are not confused feel free to laugh at the fact that it took about 30 minutes for me to figure that out.) After that, assembly was easy, I needed an extra pair of hands at only one point. The drawers slide well and they are a good size. The price was right too.I was 8 months pregnant when I put this together. Aside from my belly being in the way, this was easy to put together and looks great in the nursery!I bought this nightstand and 4-drawer chest for my 9yo daughter. Everything arived very promptly, with no damage. It took a little time to put together, but if you know how to work a screwdriver and a hammer, it's a cinch. The drawers slide easily, and in my opinion it's a little better built than what is described by other reviews. We were expecting something versy flimsy, and while the drawer bottoms aren't solid wood panels, they're not cheap cardboard either. When put together they look very cute and my daughter loves them.Very happy with the quality of the parts and the instructions. I was a bit worried as I've bought flat pack/build it yourself style furniture before and it was very difficult to put together/had missing parts/holes not completely drilled. South Shore Furniture is completely the opposite. Very well built, good instructions and good quality parts. Very happy with the purchase. The pulls aren't the nicest, but I just went and bought some at Lowes and swapped them out.I have furnished both my kids rooms with South Shore stuff. My first son was born 4 tears ago and it has all help up beautifully. It's easy to put together, cannot beat the price and this night table was no different. Matches the set I got my son 4 years ago and I will continue to buy South Shore furniture.First , I would like to say thank you to Amazon for their great customer service ! I have ordered 3 piece of South Shore furniture including this night stand . The shipment arrived within a week . We haven't opened the packaging until a month later because we were renovating our baby nursery . When we opened the packaging , other two pieces were fine but night stand was all dented . I contacted Amazon asking for replacement . Even though I called a month after delivery date they were so understanding . They shipped us a new stand which arrived 3-4 days later . We shipped old stand back with no charge .All 3 pieces are perfectly matching our baby crib .Quality wise I can't give product clear 10 because it's not solid wood but still looks good and I hope last for many more years . Thank youDecent nightstand for the price. First one came damaged but amazon sent a new one before they received the broken one back which was amazing. They look nice, but are cheap - they ding and dent very easily.I'm in love with this product it came packaged amazingly it was solid and no dens or scratches or missing parts I am very please with the look and color and how soild the structure is I can't wait to spend more time in my nursery
